Clash Between Bangladesh Border Guards and Armed Muslim Group at Rakhine-Bangladesh Border

On June 3, a violent clash erupted between Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) forces and an armed Muslim group near Salamipara village in Naikhongchhari, Bandarban. The confrontation began when BGB troops intercepted cattle smuggled across the border, prompting the armed Muslim group to attack with firearms and machetes. Three BGB personnel were reportedly injured, and some cattle were recaptured by the attackers. The BGB later apprehended several individuals involved. Armed groups like Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) are known to operate in the area, engaging in criminal activities along the Rakhine-Bangladesh border.
