"ARSA-Linked Individuals Spotted in Uniforms on Cox’s Bazar Beach"
On
the evening of June 8, dozens of young Muslim refugee men wearing shirts
bearing the emblem of the ARSA (Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army) militant group
were spotted on Cox’s Bazar beach in Bangladesh. According to reports, they may
have come from the Kutupalong refugee camps or may be living in rented
apartments in the town of Cox’s Bazar, outside the camps.
In a
video report by Cox’s Bazar News, a teenage boy was seen kissing the
ARSA emblem on his shirt with apparent affection, and he verbally confirmed his
support, saying “ARSA.”
According
to local sources, Bangladeshi authorities reportedly prohibit refugees from
leaving the camps except for medical emergencies. The camps are already
equipped with schools, clinics, hospitals, and markets. A local resident
commented, “If they keep coming out like this, there will be a rise in crime in
the country.”
